Quick Answer

Beauty product longevity depends on product volume, efficiency, layers per use, and how often you reapply it during the day.

How to Calculate

  1. Choose the product type or enter a custom efficiency.
  2. Enter product volume and unit.
  3. Enter layers per application and applications per day.
  4. Click Calculate to see applications, cost, and lifespan.

Formula

Applications = efficiency × volume / layers per application

Cost per application = product price / applications

Days until empty = applications / applications per day

Worked Examples

Example 1: 0.34 fl oz mascara, 2 layers per use, and 1 use per day gives about 30 applications and a cost of about $0.15 per use.

Example 2: 120 mL foundation with 1 layer per day lasts far longer because the product volume is much larger.

Example 3: Reapplying twice per day cuts the lifespan in half compared with a single daily application.

How to Interpret the Result

Output Meaning
ApplicationsTotal number of uses before the product runs out.
Cost per applicationHow much one use costs based on the product price.
Days until emptyEstimated lifespan based on your daily usage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Different products have different coverage and usage density, so a mascara tube and a foundation bottle do not last the same way.
