Quick Answer

Multiply each activity's hours by its data rate, add everything together, and then scale by the number of days in the month.

How to Use It

  1. Enter the number of hours you spend on each activity per day.
  2. Choose how many days are in the month you want to estimate.
  3. Click Calculate.
  4. Review the activity breakdown and total usage.

Formula

Daily data usage = sum of each activity's hours x GB per hour

Monthly data usage = daily data usage x days per month

Worked Examples

Example 1: 2 hours of HD streaming uses 4 GB per day.

Example 2: 1 hour of social media and 2 hours of browsing uses 0.36 GB per day.

Example 3: 30 days at 5 GB per day equals 150 GB per month.
